Registering your Romanian car in Belgium
Are you registered with a Belgian municipality? Then in principle you may no longer drive with Romanian number plates. We help you register the car correctly, so you avoid fines.
Anyone living in Belgium must register their car in Belgium, within 30 days of registering with the municipality. If you are stopped, you risk a fine and must pay road tax.
There are some exceptions, for example a company car from a foreign employer, a car borrowed for a short time or a rental car. We check with you whether an exception applies.
Registration happens in steps: the 705 vignette at customs, technical inspection, Belgian insurance and registration with the DIV. Then you pay the registration tax and the annual road tax. Don’t forget to deregister the car in Romania.
