Do you live in Belgium with your children? Then in most cases you are entitled to child benefit. In Flanders it is called the Groeipakket. We help you get your application in order.

Child benefit in Belgium is organised per region: the Groeipakket in Flanders, and separate systems in Brussels and Wallonia. You choose a payment agency, which pays the benefit every month.

Sometimes an application gets stuck: a missing document, a move to another region, or questions about children who still live in Romania. We find out where it is stuck and follow up until everything is in order. Help is also available in Romanian.

Which documents do you usually need?

  • Identity card or residence card of the parents
  • Birth certificate of the children
  • Proof of your address in Belgium
  • Bank account number for the payments
  • For children in Romania: evidence of the family situation and of any benefits received there
